Flute lessons added to music programme

Flute lessons have been added to the Lakes Community Music School programme, which has grown to include 10 teachers and more than 70 pupils over 29 teaching sessions a week.

Organiser Emma Wilson said along with flute lessons, pupils could learn piano/keyboard, violin, voice, trumpet, trombone, guitar and ukulele, taught by herself and Wakatipu High School music department head Alison Price.

The school was also offering an Introduction to Jazz Piano for those with some experience, Beginner Skills for children wanting to learn from scratch and a new group lesson in the Ukulele Orchestra.

All lessons are after school and often at the high school.

Cost $15.
