Dorothy Brown's Cinema in Arrowtown will be decorated with a French theme for the duration of its second annual Alliance Francaise French Film Festival from April 10-20.
The boutique cinema will screen 17 films and documentaries ranging from grand adventures, music and literature. Spot prizes and goody bags will be given away.
Cinema manager Samantha Relph said the Dorothy Brown's team was ''delighted to be the only venue in the area to host this festival and we hope everyone will enter into the spirit of the occasion''.
Newly appointed staff member Alice Caron has lived in New Zealand for a year, but grew up in Toulouse where she studied a master's degree in media and cinema.
