The Environment Court will hear an appeal against the 1700-lot Northlake residential subdivision in Wanaka in March.
A group of 26 submitters is appealing the Queenstown Lakes District Council's decision to approve the private plan change that allows the subdivision to go ahead.
Documents filed with the court show the appellants want the plan change ''cancelled in its entirety'' but, failing that, the development reduced in area and capped at between 442 and 710 dwellings, with lot sizes not smaller than 800sq m.
The appellants' lawyer, Jan Caunter, said on Monday the appeal would be heard in Wanaka in the week beginning March 2 next year.
