Emergency services were called to the Lagoon Ave home about 4.30am, the fire service said.
Acting Senior Sergeant Ben Butterfield said the building was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.
Once the fire was brought under control the body of a man, who lived at the property, was found inside, he said.
"The cause of the fire is yet to be established and police will be working with fire investigators to determine a cause throughout today."
The man's name will not be released until next of kin have been advised.
