A man is dead after crashing his car at Hawea early this morning.
Police say the accident occurred sometime between 1am and 2.30am, when a Toyota Landcruiser crashed on Cemetery Rd at Hawea Flat.
The driver, a 34-year-old Hawea man, was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Initial investigations suggested the vehicle flipped several times after the driver over-corrected when it drifted into a gravel verge.
The name of the driver is expected to be released later today.
