Manager appointed to Doc role

Queenstown sales and marketing manager Cher Knights has been appointed to the Department of Conservation's Otago conservancy as its new business development manager.

It is a new role within Doc and is aimed at working with businesses to develop initiatives to help deliver conservation gains.

"Doc is capable of achieving so much more by working in partnership with these parties, which makes this a very exciting role for me," she said.

Ms Knights, an Australian, has a degree in biological and environmental sciences and works as a sales and marketing manager for Trojan Holding's Hermitage Hotel and its tour products at Mt Cook.

She begins her new role next month.

While it is Dunedin-based, she will frequently work from Queenstown, where she lives.

She has worked in the tourism industry for the past 16 years in various operations, sales and marketing roles.
