Need to mend a fence

Police inquiries are continuing after a car crashed through a fence and into a Hallenstein St garden in Queenstown about 9am on Tuesday.

The car, driven by a 27-year-old New Zealander, careered off the road and into the Turner Heights property, destroying a section of the fence.

Senior Constable Chris Blackford said it appeared the man lost control of the vehicle.

''There were no injuries and alcohol was not a factor. So inquiries are continuing to see what went wrong.''
