A change of circumstances has caused the Queenstown Lakes District Council to restart its search for a general manager of infrastructure.

The recruitment of Welshman Tim James, announced late last year, was no longer possible through a change of circumstances involving family health, council chief executive Debra Lawson said in a statement yesterday.
