More than $1000 has been raised for Wakatipu Search and Rescue as part of an ongoing fundraising campaign by the Hilton Queenstown Resort and Spa/Kawarau Hotel.
Wakatipu SAR treasurer Vladka Kennett said the money would be used for training and special equipment.
Mrs Kennett said it was ''fantastic'' the search and rescue group was chosen as the recipient of the Hilton initiative.
