Preparations are being made for sealing the Remarkables ski area access road, NZSki chief executive Paul Anderson saying work would start in about three weeks.
Before sealing began technical details such as measuring the road's corners and having those reviewed by an engineer, had to be completed, he said.
Earlier this month, NZSki announced it would be sealing the winding 13km alpine road as part of a $45 million redevelopment of the ski area. The bottom 4km will be sealed first and will be ready for this ski season, the rest being completed over the next few years.
