Council seeks feedback on new bus stops

The Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) is asking for feedback on bus stops for its new bus network.

It has sent letters to residents and businesses near the proposed sites asking them to raise any concerns about issues such as signage, road markings and the removal of car parks.

QLDC property and infrastructure general manager Peter Hansby said there would be ''challenges'' around the proposed sites for some of the stops.

''We're happy to discuss any concerns the public might have.''

Although the Otago Regional Council has set the routes and will oversee the service, the QLDC must ensure bus stops are in place in time for the service's launch on November 20.
