Getting in the swing of things

Chelsea Wood, of Queenstown, was lapping up the sun in the Wakatipu basin yesterday during the second week of the school holidays.

The 9-year-old is pictured swinging from the Frankton willow tree.

A Queenstown Lakes Distrist Council sign beside the old tree describes it as the "largest crack willow" in Central Otago, at 14m tall,  with a spread of 30m.
