Tickets to the first-ever New Zealand show of legendary singer-songwriter and style icon Grace Jones have sold out.

The limited-capacity concert at Queenstown Events Centre, which was announced on Tuesday morning, was all but sold out within the first 12 hours, with the final tickets going today.

Jones will perform to a crowd of 1900 with her full band on March 2 next year

There will be no more South Island shows announced.

One of the original Queens of Disco, Jones has been pushing the boundaries in music, fashion, art and life since the 1970s.

Now aged 69, next year will see her arrive in New Zealand for the exclusive one-off South Island show.

"We’re delighted this show has been met with such a huge response from Grace Jones’ Kiwi fans," organiser Alex Turnbull, of Rhythm & Alps, said.

"We knew it would be a sell-out, and fans are in for a treat.

"This show will be a spectacle of music, fashion and art – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Queenstown."
