Guilty plea after Queenstown drug raid

A Queenstown man has pleaded guilty after he was arrested during significant drug busts where police recovered $200,000 worth of methamphetamine and more than $30,000 in cash.

Ned Edward Reo Webster (36), gib stopper, this morning admitted possession of class C-controlled cannabis plant and possession of class A-controlled methamphetamine for the purpose of supply.

Both charges were dated June 10.

Webster, who has been remanded in custody, appeared by audio-visual link before Judge Bernadette Farnan in the Queenstown District Court today.

He will be subject to a Crown sentencing in the Invercargill District Court on September 10.

Police seized more than $200,000 worth of methamphetamine and more than $30,000 in cash during the June 10 raids in Queenstown and Cromwell and followed an earlier arrest in Alexandra where methamphetamine was found.
