A man has been caught by police squatting and defecating on a Queenstown footpath.
Sergeant Mark Gill, of Queenstown, said the 25-year-old local was found mid-act by police about 12.30am yesterday and arrested.
Sgt Gill said the incident happened near Nomads Backpackers on Church St and described it as "unusual".
The man was charged with offensive behaviour and will appear in the Queenstown District Court.
