Man crashes after fleeing

A 39-year-old Queenstown man was charged with dangerous driving and failing to remain stopped.

On Tuesday evening, police stopped the man to conduct a breath test but he drove off during the process. He later crashed his vehicle on Goldridge Way and took off on foot.

Police were unable to confirm what he crashed into but said it was not another car.

Police found the man and arrested him. He will appear in Queenstown District Court on Monday.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
