The passion for mountain biking in Queenstown and further afield has gained international exposure on the BBC website, courtesy of two Lonely Planet writers.
Sarah Bennett and Lee Slater wrote about cycle trails for their travel feature headlined ''Easy riding on New Zealand's new cycle trail'', on January 16.
''The 100km Queenstown Trail offers myriad itineraries through the peak-fringed Wakatipu Basin, complete with wineries, the pioneer gold-mining settlement of Arrowtown and the historic Kawarau Bridge, where the world's first commercial bungy jump still operates,'' they wrote.
