Queenstown is to get a new primary school to help the area cope with burgeoning school rolls, the Government has announced this morning.

The school will be sited between Queenstown and Arrowtown and will open in 2021, Education Minister Anne Tolley announced.

With more than 1000 additional pupils expected in the Queenstown Lakes District by 2026, current schools will be unable to cope with population growth and a new school is required, she said.
