Police in Queenstown want to hear from anyone offered a new Weber barbecue after a recent shipping container burglary in Frankton.

Detective Sergeant Brian Cameron said several barbecues were stolen sometime between August 12 and 28.

It was an offence to receive stolen property, he said.

"If you are offered goods for sale at a price that appears too good to be true, then it probably is."

Anyone with information can call Queenstown police on 105.
