A sellout crowd has turned out for Gibbston Valley Winery's summer concert today.

Under cloudy skies, a crowd of about 16,000 has gathered to enjoy performances by Bonnie Tyler, Alan Parsons Live Project, and Icehouse.

Concertgoers chilled out with picnic rugs and hampers as local artists J-Chill from Roxburgh and Flaming Moes took to the stage late this morning, before Tyler kicked off the headliners' acts at 1pm

She was due to be followed by Alan Parsons Live Project before Icehouse completed the day's entertainment.

Amanda Calvert, CEO of Greenstone Entertainment said; “The Gibbston Valley Winery Summer Concert has been another great success! Every year, it gives us great pleasure to bring the concert tour to Queenstown and have the opportunity to showcase our beautiful country and people to our international guests.

''We now look forward to taking the tour to the North Island next weekend for what will be two more fantastic shows in the idyllic locations of Taupo and Whitianga.”
