Two tourists sustained minor injuries when they were hit by a taxi in Arrowtown on Saturday night.
Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka, of Queenstown, said the incident happened near the intersection of Buckingham and Wiltshire Sts.
Police would view CCTV footage and speak to witnesses before deciding whether to charge the driver, Snr Sgt Enoka said.
