Two people who called for help after ''getting stuck at the top of a waterfall'' near Queenstown yesterday afternoon were rescued by volunteer firefighters.
A police media spokesman said the pair rang for help about 4.20pm, after becoming concerned for their safety in Wye Creek, a valley in The Remarkables range about 15km south of Frankton.
A helicopter was put on stand-by to rescue the pair, before firefighters walked up a track to the pair and guided them to safety about 5.30pm.
The spokesman did not know the gender of the two people or where they were from.
