The national Fish and Game body is auditing Central South Island Fish and Game chairman Gary Rooney, after a former councillor lodged a complaint, Stuff has reported.
Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage said this week she became aware of "potential conflicts of interest" involving Mr Rooney as chairman in April.
Fish and Game New Zealand’s Central South Island region extends from the south bank of the Rakaia River to Moeraki.
