Police are hunting for a woman who dressed up in a NZ Courier uniform and stole a bag containing a large amount of cash from a Lake Tekapo business.

Lake Tekapo police today called for the public's help tracking down the woman who carried out the theft on Friday last week.

The unknown female entered a business premises wearing a NZ Couriers top about 4pm and took  a courier bag containing a "large sum of cash".

The top she was wearing was no longer worn by NZ Courier staff.

She is described as being in her mid and late 20s, with shoulder length brown hair, medium build.

She was wearing black Nike shoes, and black trousers
