Pair injured in Twizel hit-and-run

Two men were airlifted to Dunedin Hospital after a hit-and-run at a party in Twizel at the weekend.

Police said the men were hit by a car after an altercation between partygoers in Mackenzie Dr about 3am on Sunday.

All the people involved were believed to be from Twizel.

Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested, of Timaru, told Fairfax a white 1990 Honda Civic sedan was seized by police.

It was not clear how many people were in the car at the time.

The two victims remained in hospital but their injuries were not life­-threatening, he said.

Police wanted to speak to anyone who was at the party or who had any information.
