Police have released the name of the man who died following an incident at the Maitai River in Nelson last week.
Police said on July 17 Timaru man Colin Marcus Marshall (72) was pulled from the river and was unable to be resuscitated.
Emergency services were called to the Maitai River at the end of Clouston Tce around 9.45am.
His death has been referred to the Coroner.
