Spectators get a drenching as Regan Williamson tears down the Clutha River near the Albert Town bridge during the World Championship Jet Boat Marathon yesterday  afternoon.

Heading into the final leg of the championships today,  New Zealand’s John Derry  has a lead of more than three minutes  over Williamson.

The final leg of the championships will start at the Glenorchy ramp at 8.30am this morning  and race over the Dart, Kawarau and Shotover rivers before finishing at the Frankton Marina this afternoon.

The championship was marred by the death of Duayne Insley on the Waimakariri River on Sunday.
