A person has been flown to Dunedin Hospital in a critical condition following a crash on the Clinton highway in the Clutha District.
Southern police said they were called to the scene shortly after 5am today, after the driver of a ute crashed on State Highway 1 (Balclutha to Gore) near the intersection with Fairview Rd, not far from Clinton.
The driver was the only person in the ute and no other vehicles were involved.
Fire and ambulance staff from Balclutha and Clinton also attended.
The road was closed for most of the morning, but had since reopened.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
