The announcement was made following the board’s failure to raise a quorum, being one member short, for its regular, six-weekly public meeting in Lawrence.
Clutha district councillor and board member Geoff Blackmore said it was two years since such a situation had last arisen.
Only he and fellow board members Mel Foster and Matthew Little were available to meet.
The board would reconvene on August 21, at 3pm.
