A person has suffered moderate injuries after a car and ute collided near Milburn in thick fog this morning.
Police were called to the crash in Otago about 6.45am on the Waihola Highway on State Highway 1, near the passing lane south of Waihola.
They said one person had been trapped in the car with moderate injuries; the driver of the ute was not hurt.
Police earlier warned motorists there was thick, heavy fog in the area and to watch out for emergency workers, the crash site and debris on the road.
People driving between Milton and Allanton were asked to delay travel where possible until conditions improved.
The fog cleared by mid-morning.
