Sightings of van sought

Police are seeking sightings of a van believed to be linked to a burglary in Clinton at the weekend.

Senior Constable Richard Whitmore, of Clinton, said Clinton Automotive was burgled on Sunday night.

It appeared offenders entered the Gorge Rd business through a window and smashed a hole in a wall. No property was taken.

The offenders damaged a self-service petrol pump. The same night, a ride-on lawn-mower at a nearby property was tampered with and a half-full 10-litre plastic petrol tank taken.

Snr Const Whitmore said a white or light grey van was seen near the petrol pump between 1.30am and 2am on Monday. Similar to a Toyota Hiace, it had mag wheels, tinted windows and a contractor-style roof rack.

Two people were seen acting suspiciously around the van and Gorge Rd.
