A carriage of a freight train has derailed in Clinton partially blocking part of SH1.
A police spokeswoman said the carriage derailed about 7.30pm between Gorge Rd and Nelson St.
One lane remained blocked, but traffic was still flowing, the spokesman said.
No cars were involved in the incident, and no one was hurt.
Emergency services are working to right the carriage.
