The University of Otago has developed a 443sq m division of health sciences study centre to support students and teaching staff at the hospital.
The 24/7 facility, which will be used for research, study, video conferencing and tutorials, will officially open on August 15.
University of Otago chief operating officer Stephen Willis said while the facility would be officially opened next month, some students had been using the hub since April.
Every year, the university trains and teaches more than 250 students in Invercargill.
