Fire crews from throughout Southland attended an ammonia gas leak at a freezing works near Invercargill yesterday.
Fire Service southern communications shift manager Brent Dunn said 10 appliances from Invercargill, Wallacetown and Kingswell attended the incident in Crowe Rd, Wallacetown, about 1.15pm.
Firefighters worked to contain the leak, which started in a plant room, Mr Dunn said.
An ambulance attended, but no injuries were reported, he said.Fire crews left at 7pm.
