Emergency services battled a fire at a Southland dairy yesterday.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand was called to the shop in Seaward Downs Rd, Edendale, shortly after 9.30am.
Fenz spokesman Andrew Norris said fire crews from Edendale, Mataura and Wyndham attended the incident.
He confirmed there was a fire in the ceiling of the property which was ''hard to locate'' in the cavity.
''We have a fire in the ceiling space ... the fire is not major in size, but it is hard to locate and extinguish.''
He confirmed it was brought under control just before noon.
