Invercargill council director resigns

The Invercargill City Council’s director of finance and corporate services, Dean Johnson, has resigned.

After 15 years in local government, council chief executive Clare Hadley announced yesterday that Mr Johnson had decided it was time for a change.

‘‘Dean has been responsible for driving a number of major projects at council and in Invercargill.

"Over the years he has enjoyed a strong relationship with the mayor, elected members and council officers and is leaving the city in a good financial position,’’ Ms Hadley said.

Mr Johnson has also held the role of chief executive of Invercargill City Holdings Limited and Invercargill City Forests Limited, which are council owned companies.
