Winton A&P Association president Dellwyn Malcolm said he invited the FreestyleNZ group to entertain new audiences at Winton Racecourse.

They will do four  presentations during the event with freestyle motocross bikes doing flips, whips, and tricks.

"Motocrossing and motorbiking is huge in the Southland area and we approached them, hoping to draw a crowd that might not usually go to this kind of event."

More than 40 trade exhibitors will show their wares and services at the show which is expected to attract more than 4000 people.

Mr Malcolm said the show’s traditional audience should not be concerned as the favourites will still be at the event, such as the NZ Crossbred Lamb Shearing Championships, the Petting Zoo and the "Big Dig", where children dig for prizes in a large sawdust pile.

"It is an event for everybody. Kids and adults will have fun."

Association secretary Diane Goodall said the biggest challenge for organisers was trying to keep the costs down so the event  was accessible to the whole community.

"It takes a lot of money to put on the show, with the rental of the showgrounds costing us over $8000.  We are very lucky that the business community support us well."
