Murder-accused enters not guilty plea

The man arrested after a woman was found dead in an Invercargill motel room has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder.

The 31-year-old man, who has interim name suppression, appeared yesterday by audiovisual link in the High Court at Invercargill where he denied the charge of murdering Azalia Wilson.

A homicide investigation was launched after officers found the body of the 22-year-old woman in a unit at a motel in Waikiwi on November 17.

Justice Gerald Nation remanded the accused in custody
until his next appearance in April 2020.
