Person taken to hospital after crash near Bluff

A person has been taken to Southland Hospital with moderate injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Bluff Highway.

Emergency services were called to the scene before 2pm today and worked to free a person trapped in a car for a time.

A St John spokesman said one patient was taken to hospital, while another person was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

About seven police cars, two fire appliances and two ambulances attended.
