Invercargill police are investigating after a man turned up at Southland Hospital with a gunshot wound last night.
The incident is believed to have occurred in the city sometime around 7pm.
In a statement today police said the man was in a stable condition in Southland Hospital.
They wanted to hear from anyone who had information or who thought they had heard a shot around that time.
