Police have released the name of a woman who died following a car crash in Invercargill on Friday night.
She was 37-year-old Emma Joyce Bagley, of Invercargill.
A police spokeswoman said Mrs Bagley was in a Kia station wagon which collided with a Subaru Impreza hatchback at the intersection of Newcastle and Clifton Sts, about 9.10pm.
Mrs Bagley’s husband was also in the car and remains in a critical but stable condition in Christchurch Hospital.
"Their two young children received minor-to-moderate injuries and have been released from hospital."
She said the driver of the Subaru Impreza suffered serious injuries and remains in Southland Hospital.
A passenger in the car has been discharged.
The spokeswoman said the serious crash unit was investigating the incident and police would like to hear from anyone who saw the Subaru in the hours before the crash - particularly the manner of driving of the vehicle earlier in the evening.
