Three new appointments to Allied Press regional teams

Giordano Stolley (51) has been appointed Invercargill bureau chief and editor of the Southland Express for the Otago Daily Times. Hailing originally from South Africa, he has been a journalist for the past 25 years.

Prior to joining the Otago Daily Times, he worked in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Australia and Southeast Asia for various newspapers, websites and news agencies.

He is no stranger to New Zealand, having previously lived in Auckland for more than two years in the early 2000s.

Joining him in Invercargill is Luisa Girao (30) as the Otago Daily Times’ Southland reporter.

She is originally from Brazil and has been in New Zealand for the past year, where she recently completed a postgraduate diploma in journalism at Massey University in Wellington.

She has previously worked in Australia and her native Brazil for various media companies, including in television, news websites and newspapers.

Rebecca Ryan (28) has been appointed North Otago bureau chief for the Otago Daily Times and editor of the Oamaru Mail.

Miss Ryan has previously worked as a reporter for the Southland Times, Oamaru Mail and Otago Daily Times.

She has spent the past three years working at Parliament.
