Witnesses sought over crash involving campervan

Te Anau police are appealing for witnesses to a crash involving a car and campervan, believed to be on the wrong side of the road, near Te Anau Downs.

Police say a blue Subaru station wagon was involved in the incident on State Highway 94 (Te Anau Milford Sound Highway) when the driver had to take evasive action to avoid a campervan about 3pm on Friday, April 12.

The campervan was believed to be on the wrong side of the road when going round a bend.

The Subaru was travelling south towards Te Anau and the campervan was travelling north to Milford Sound.

Police would like to hear from the driver or occupants of the campervan, or any one that saw the crash  or may have been in the area at the time.

The campervan was described as large and white, possibly a KEA.
