Gore’s Morgan Thomson riding a Kawasaki KXF450 and Johnny Burkhart, of Masterton, riding a KTM 450 (left) get completely airborne as they come off the table top jump during the veterans class 30 years old to 40 years old race at the New Zealand Veterans’ and Women’s National Motocross Championships at the weekend.

The event, hosted by the Gore and Districts Motorcycle Club, was held on the motocross track at Sue and Peter Dale’s farm in Riversdale.

Club president Brendon Stevens said about 150 people took part, coming from as far north as Warkworth.

“It’s really worth while running a major event like this when it’s supported well from riders from throughout New Zealand,” Mr Stevens said.
