‘Black’ theme for exhibition

Visitors to this year’s annual Wanaka Art Society Labour Weekend art exhibition will be able to enjoy music by a string quartet and watch a solo ballet as they buy works of art.

Wanaka Art Society president Jo Nimmo said the exhibition would open at the Lake Wanaka Centre tomorrow morning and the opening would be followed by Arabella Nimmo’s "Dance o mat" and a performance by Mt Aspiring College music pupils.

This year, the theme is "Shades of Black" and there will be 192 artworks on show, including prints, jewellery, pottery, painting and photography.
