In her first appearance at the Wanaka show, she will cook recipes from her new book Essential Annabel Langbein, due to be published in March, at cooking demonstrations on March 10-11.
"I can’t wait — it’s such a great community event that brings together everyone from the farming community as well as the town. It’s heartland New Zealand stuff, taking us back to our history and the celebration of livestock, horsemanship and rural homemaking," she said.
Although an internationally famous cook, Ms Langbein revealed she still got a bit nervous before a live event.
"Sometimes beforehand I can get a little amped, but ... if you’re too blasé you don’t have the energy that makes a performance. I see my job as helping to empower people to have fun cooking. It’s given me so much pleasure to share skills that make people’s lives and cooking experiences feel easier and give them confidence," she said.
Ms Langbein is booked to cook in GJ Gardner Life & Style Marquee at 11.30am and 2.30pm on both days of the two-day event.
