Police have named the man who died following a crash in Luggate, near Wanaka, early on Saturday.
He was 23-year-old Kane Stephen Evans, of Mount Pisa.
Police were called to the scene of the single-vehicle crash on State Highway 6 near Wanaka Airport about 1.40am on Saturday.
Mr Evans - the sole occupant of the vehicle - was found dead inside.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
