A man reported missing near Wanaka by police has been found.
Daniel Boutov (26) was reported missing on Sunday after last being seen by friends at 4.30pm last Wednesday.
He informed police on Monday night he had been walking the Gillespie Pass track, a three to four-day tramp near Makarora.
It is understood he and a friend walked the track spontaneously and forgot to tell others.
Mr Boutov said on Facebook he was ''totally fine''.
