The hearing on the Queenstown Lakes District Council’s navigation safety bylaw will now be held on October 3 at 10am after it was postponed last week.

The bylaw has been a hot topic around the district for close to a year.

The council has received close to 600 submissions on a proposed amendment to the bylaw which would see heavy restrictions placed on jet-boats using the upper stretches of the Clutha River near Albert Town.

The commissioners are Crs Calum MacLeod, Jane McDonald and Penny Clark.
