A man and woman have been arrested after attacking someone using a baseball bat in Greymouth earlier today.
The man has been charged with assault with a weapon while the woman has been charged with assault.
The victim who was hit in the head was taken to hospital where the injuries were assessed as serious but not thought to be life-threatening.
The incident occured just before 1pm on Tasman Street.
Both are due to appear in the Greymouth District Court next week.
